Hi, my name is Tatjana ("Tanya") Matvejeva and I give private piano lessons in the Baltimore and surrounding areas, including Columbia, Linthicum, Ellicott City, Crofton, Pasadena, Laurel, Severn, Severna Park, Arnold, Annapolis, Brooklyn Park, and Glen Burnie. I give private piano lessons in the comfort and convenience of your own home. As an experienced piano teacher, I believe learning piano in your own home yields the best results since the student is in a familiar environment and receives all of my attention during the piano lesson. I have taught at conventional piano schools but find that students are more easily distracted and frustrated when in a room with other students playing the piano. I enjoy working with both beginning and intermediate level pianists of all ages. I believe you are never too young or too old to begin playing the piano for the first time or to build upon existing skills.
I was trained in classical piano in my home-town of Latvia (formerly part of the U.S.S.R.). I have been playing piano since the age of seven, and have taught piano for seven years. I moved to the United States four years ago and now live in Baltimore with my husband. I want to continue influencing others with the gift of music as I had done for years in my hometown of Daugavpils, Latvia. Working with students and watching them progress to higher levels gives me a great deal of satisfaction and happiness. I look forward to helping you reach your musical goals, whatever they may be!
